YOUNG WOMAN DIES SUDDENLY TUESDAY

Mrs. Dorothy Richardson, 24, Leaves Three Small Children

Death came with shocking suddenness to Mrs. Eugene Richardson of Winterset Tuesday evening. Mrs. Richardson was the former Dorothy Mapes, and was well known here. She was 24 years of age, and the mother of three small children.

Mrs. Richardson was not known to be in ill health, relatives said. She had done her usual housework Tuesday and in the evening complained of a pain in her back. She went into an adjoining room to lie down, and died shortly later.

Mrs. Richardson was the daughter of Harve and Alice Mapes and was born Oct. 23, 1914, near Macksburg. Her early life was spent there, the family later moving to Winterset where she attended high school.

She is survived by her husband; the children, Dean, Gene, and Donna; three brothers, George, Harold and Leslie Mapes; and two sisters, Mrs. Vera Gamble and Mrs. Cora Bristow; in addition to her parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday from Anderson's, and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
