Wednesday, May 17, 1939YOUNG WOMAN DIED AT HOSPITAL SUNDAY
Mrs. Nels Overguaard, Young Mother, Succumbs at Age of 26 Years
Mrs. Nels Overguaard, young Winterset woman, died at the Winterset hospital Sunday of pneumonia. Mrs. Overguaard was 26 years of age.
Mrs. Overguaard had been in frail health since the first of the year. She was the former Deva Hamblin, daughter of Thomas and Ettie Hamblin, and was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Webster township. She completed her education at the Winterset high school, graduating here with the class of 1931.
At an early age she had united with the Church of Christ at Early Chapel, later transferring her membership to Winterset. Her entire life had been spent in this county, with the exception of the few months when her husband's work took them to other parts of the state.
She was married to Nels Overguaard on June 30, 1932. She leaves her husband and two sons, Junior and Duane; her mother; a sister, Zola Douglas of Earlham; and a brother, George Sawyers of Winterset.
Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home Tuesday, in charge of the Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor of the Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
