Native of Lincoln Township Was Buried Tuesday at New Virginia
Mrs. Emma Strawn, a native of Madison county, but a long-time resident of New Virginia, died Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Lida Callison, of Lincoln township. She was 72 years of age.
Mrs. Strawn was the former Emma Fisher, daughter of Lewis L. and Mary Jane Fisher, and was born in Lincoln township on April 15, 1866. She was married to Levi Strawn in 1908, and they made their home in New Virginia until his death last fall. Since then she has lived with Mrs. Callison.
Four sisters preceded her in death. Two sisters and two brothers survive. They are: Charles D. Fisher of Anadarko, Okla., L. M. Fisher of Castlerock, Col., Mrs. Hattie DeMar and Mrs. Lida Callison of Winterset.
She became a member of the Baptist church at Macksburg when a young girl and always took an active part in church activities until failing health interfered.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist church of New Virginia, Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made at New Virginia.
