June 11, 1919Death of J. I. GUIBERSON
After sixty nine years of residence in Union township, John I. Guiberson died as his home on last Wednesday at the age of seventy-three years.
Rheumatism had crippled him for the past fifteen years so that he was obliged to occupy a wheeled chair most of the time. Great suffering attended his affliction but he showed remarkable fortitude and cheerfulness. Mrs. Guiberson was most devoted in caring for him. They had no children but took for their daughter, a niece, now Mrs.Gladys Caudle
Mr. Guiberson was one of the ten sons of N. W. Guiberson, one of Madison's best known pioneers who came here in the fall of 1850 from Holmes county, Ohio. Six of these sons are living at present, two in this county and four in the west.
Funeral services were conducted in the United Brethren church in Jefferson township on Friday, Rev. Fleming, of Van Meter conducting, followed by burial in the (North) McDonald cemetery.
