John Teets, veteran farmer of Walnut township, died at his home near Peru on Wednesday of last week. He was 62 years of age.
Mr. Teets was born at Grandview, Iowa, on December 28, 1878, the son of William and Sarah Teets. On January 11, 1899, he was married to Miss Emma Aldinger of Sweetland. They moved to Marshall county where they lived for two years, coming to Madison county in 1894, where they since had made their home.
He is survived by his widow and four sisters, in addition to a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Peru in charge of the Rev. I. G. Wilkins, pastor. Burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.

JOHN TEETS, WELL KNOWN FARMER, DIED AT HIS HOME WEDNESDAY
John Teets died suddenly at his home on Wednesday morning while he was out in the barn yard doing his morning chores. The funeral was held in the M. E. church Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by the Rev. I. G. Wilkins and burial was made in the Ebenezer cemetery.
Relatives from a distance who came for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Condon of near Brookfield, Mo., Mrs. Clara Thompson and son Floyd and daughter, Mrs. Lola Wiese and Mrs. Bell Bechey all of Muscatine, also Mr. and Mrs. Perry French and Mrs. Clarence and Alden Bird.

Page 1, Column 3JACK TEETS FOUND DEAD IN BARNYARD
Jack Teets, 60, well known farmer living two miles southeast of Peru, was found dead in his barnyard early Wednesday morning. Death supposedly came from heart disease from which he had suffered several years.
Mr. and Mrs Teets were getting ready to start on a trip to Missouri to spend Thanksgiving with relatives. He had almost finished his work in the barnyard and was nearly ready to start when death came.
Mr. and Mrs. Teets had lived on the farm about four years, moving from Peru where he managed Kale’s hardware store. They had no children.
