Death of Mrs. Wm. F. Graham

Mrs. Wm. F. Graham, one of the older residents of Winterset, died at her home on North First street, Tuesday afternoon, December 1 at the age of 91 years. Mrs. Graham who would have been 92 years of age on December 30th had enjoyed unusually good health all of her life, and only became ill a week ago. Heart complications caused her death about 2:30 o'clock Tuesday.

The deceased who was the former Miss Mary M. Graham, was born in Briggsville, Illinois, December 30th, 1844. Her girlhood was spent in Briggsville, and here she was married on October 4, 1866 to William F. Graham. They moved to Iowa and Mr. Graham was an engineer for the Burlington railroad. They came to Winterset in 1929, and Mr. Graham died here July 29, 1935. For forty years previous to their moving to Winterset, they had resided in Chariton.

Mr. and Mrs. Graham were the parents of eight children, seven of whom are living; Mrs. Lela G. Crossley and Mrs. Lulu G. Paton of Winterset; C. M. Graham of Le Grande, Oregon, Fred Graham of Cresco, Mrs. Ada Mauk of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Nell Wetzel of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and Mrs. Jane Isaacson of Rock Falls, Iowa. A son, William, died in 1905.

The Rev. W. P. Fink, pastor of the First Presbyterian church will conduct Mrs. Graham's funeral services at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home at eleven o'clock, this morning, and the body will be taken to Chariton for burial.

Mrs. Wm. F. Graham

Mrs. Wm. F. Graham, formerly of Chariton, died at her home on Tuesday afternoon, December 1, 1936. She would have been 92 years of age on Dec. 30. She had enjoyed good health nearly all her life. Her illness was only of one week's duration. Heart complications caused her death. Only a few days before she became ill she had motored to Chariton with her daughter and granddaughter and made a brief visit with her grandsons, Paul Patterson and family and Ralph Paton, and attended services at the Presbyterian church.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. W. P. Fink, of the Presbyterian church, were held at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home in Winterset Thursday, at 11:00 a. m. and the body was brought to Chariton where a brief service was held at 2:00 p. m. at the grave in the Chariton cemetery, conducted by the local Presbyterian pastor, Rev. Frederick Nichol.

Her girlhood was spent in Biggsville, and there she was married on October 4, 1866, to William F. Graham. They moved to Iowa, and Mr. Graham was employed as an engineer on the Burlington railroad for many years.

They moved from Chariton to Winterset in 1929 and Mr. Graham died at that place about a year and a half ago on July 29, 1935. Their home had been in Chariton for forty years previous to moving to Winterset.

Mr. and Mrs. Graham were the parents of eight children, seven of whom are living: C. M. Graham, of La Grande, Oregon; Fred Graham, Cresco; Mrs. Adda Mauk, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Jennie Isaacson, Rock Falls, Iowa; Mrs. Nelle Wetzel, Fort Collins, Colorado; and twin daughters, Mrs. Lela G. Crossley and Mrs. Lulu G. Paton, Winterset. One son, William Graham, died in 1905.
