AGNES McCLAIN RUSSELL

Agnes McClain Russell was born in County Down, Ireland, in 1841. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter Brown four miles northeast of Patterson, Jan. 20, 1914 at the age of 73 years, 5 months and l2 days.

Grandma Russell was the mother of three children; only one, Mrs. Brown, surviving her. Miss Liza McClain, a sister of the deceased, is left without any near relatives.

Mrs. Russell has been in failing health for several months. Recently, the disease sapped the remaining vitality so rapidly that the poor weary spirit longed to depart and be at home with God. She said "I am waiting His time. My life was surrendered to Jesus when a little school girl. I always wanted to do the right". She loved and knew God's book. The World's Savior gave her a complete victory over the temptations of life and death.

Her church membership was with the Presbterians. Rev. Fred Warner of the Patterson M. E. church conducted the funeral at Union Chapel (South) Thursday. The remains were laid to rest in the cemetery adjacent to the church. The mourning family have the sympathy of the community.

NANCY BROWN

Mrs. Nancy Brown, a former resident of this place, but who of late has been living with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Brown, on account of ill health, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 20th. Funeral services were held on Thursday at Union Chapel, conducted by Rev. Warner, and interment made in that place.
