WINTERSET WORLD WAR VETERAN DIES

Elmer Miller Passed Last Wednesday at Hospital in Minneapolis

Elmer Roy Miller, a Winterset veteran of the World war, died at the veterans hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., on Wednesday of last week. He was 46 years of age.

Mr. Miller enlisted in Company A, 168th Infantry regiment in the World war and served with that famous organization. Since the war he had been in ill health.

He was married to Milly Ackelson on Oct. 15, 1919. They were the parents of three children, Willard, Vivian and Donald Miller all of Winterset.

Mr. Miller was born June 21, 1892, the son of Lee and Lizzie Miller. He is survived by his wife, three children; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Miller of Barney; two brothers, Marshall Miller of Barney and Alfred Miller of Webster township; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Schaaf and Mrs. Estella Rippey of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Nellie Harrison of Winterset.

Funeral services were held with military honors. The members of the Winterset American Legion post were in charge of the commital services at the cemetery Saturday. The Rev. Tom Foglesong, pastor the the Winterset church of Christ officiated.
