MRS. LYDA FARRIS DIES

Mrs. Lyda Farris passed away suddenly Saturday forenoon, Sept. 18th at the home of her son, Marion Brooker. Mrs. Farris had been in poor health for two years or more. Her maiden name was Lyda Shambaugh. She was born in Ohio in 1864, the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Shambaugh, and came to Iowa when a small child.

She is survived by two sons, Marion Brooker of Van Meter and Clarence Brooker of Ames; two sisters, Mrs. Louie Jones of Riverside, Cal., and Mrs. Lois Castleberry of Houston, Texas; four brothers, William E. Shambaugh, Oren C. Shambaugh, Lloyd L. Shambaugh of Van Meter and Scott Shambaugh of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Fisher funeral home. Burial was at Earlham.
