FRANK MLEYNEK IS DEAD AT EARLHAM

Stricken With Heart Attack While Shoveling Snow at His Home

Earlham-(Special)-Frank Mleynek, one of the oldest and most prominent residents of this community, died suddenly here last Tuesday. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Mleynek was stricken with a heart attack while shoveling snow at his home in the north part of Earlham. He had recently been ill with the "flu".

He was the son of Wesley and Helen Mleynek, natives of Bohemia, who came to this country in 1861, settling in Jackson county. He was born December 15 of the same year near the town of Monmouth. In 1871, he came with his parents to Yale, and grew up in that neighborhood. He married Mary Prohaska on February 13, 1888, and they established their home near Jamaica, where they lived until 1894, when they moved to their farm near Earlham.

He united with the Christian church at DeSoto changing to the Earlham church in 1904. He was an active member of the I.O.O.F. and Rebekah lodges.

Mr. and Mrs. Mleynek were the parents of three children: Mabel, who died in 1919; and Charles and Blanche.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Earlham Church of Christ in charge of the Rev. Bigelow of Des Moines, a former local pastor, assisted by the Rev. Machlan, present pastor. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
