JUNE CLAGUE

June M. Clague, a lifetime resident of Madison county, passed away at her home in Douglas township, June 19, 1965, at the age of 56 years and 17 days.

She was born on June 2, 1909 to Richard and Margaret McIntire Letz. Her childhood days were spent in and around Madison county. Her parents preceded her in death.

On August 11, 1929, she was united in marriage to Gaylon Clague. To this union were born three daughters: Shirley, Mrs. Russell Leeper of Earlham, Iowa; Sharon, Mrs. Dale Moore of Iowa Falls, Iowa; and Connie, Mrs. Rodney Ramsey of Anaheim, California.

June joined the Christian church in Winterset as a young girl and later she transferred her membership to the Worthington Methodist church. She was a faithful servant of God, and loyal to her Christian principles in every avenue of her living.

June was a willing community worker and exhibited her love for nature and beauty in her work in the Earlham Garden Club of which she was a part.

She was also a member of the Eastern Star lodge in Winterset.

She is survived by her husband, her daughters and their families, seven grandchildren, five brothers, and three sisters, and many other relatives and friends.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a friend to all in need. She will be missed not only by her family, but by all who came into contact with her life.

MRS. JUNE CLAGUE DIED SATURDAY

Well-Known Resident of Douglas Township Was 56 Years of Age

Mrs. Gaylon Clague, a well-known resident of Douglas township, died at her home there Saturday, June 19, after a lingering illness. She was 56 years of age.

Mrs. Clague was the former June M. Letz, daughter of Richard and Marguerite McIntire Letz, and was born in Madison county June 2, 1909. Her life-time was spent as a resident of the county.

She was married to Gaylon Clague on Aug. 11, 1929.

Mrs. Clague was a member of the Worthington Church and the Earlham Garden club and was a former member of the Eastern Star lodge at Winterset.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Russell Leeper of Earlham, Mrs. Dale Moore of Iowa Falls, and Mrs. Rodney Ramsey of Anaheim, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five brothers, Clarence Letz of Des Moines, Cecil Letz of Rockwell City, Don Letz of Earlham, James Letz of Booneville and Dale Letz of Winterset; and three sisters, Mrs. Byron Arnold of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Veronica Stout of Winterset and Mrs. Byrl Armbrest of Clarinda.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Worthington church, in charge of the Revs. Milton Haedt and David McKay. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
