EFFIE MAE ENGLAND

Effie Mae Hoadley England was born December 1, 1889 in Adair County, Iowa. She was the second daughter of Willard Clyde Hoadley and Elizabeth Ann Hoadley and she passed away Wednesday, January 27, 1965 at the Doctors Hospital in Des Moines. She was ill for about a month.

In her early life, her parents moved to the Early Chapel vicinity where she joined the Early Chapel Christian church.

She was united in marriage on December 28, 1910 to Henry Albert England. They moved to a farm, which was to be her home until the last few years when she moved to Earlham and lived there until her illness.

To this marriage were born two children: a daughter Gladys Mae, and a son Willard Clyde.

She was preceded in death by one brother Clyde and her husband Henry.

Surviving her is one brother, John Hoadley of Earlham, and a sister, Anna Taylor of Indianola; her daughter Gladys Jones of St. Charles, and her son Willard of Earlham. There are five grandsons, three granddaughters, one great grandson, and one great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends and neighbors.

She spent her life caring for her home and teaching school for over 35 years, before retiring in 1957. She taught in Dallas and Madison county.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Earlham.

MRS. EFFIE ENGLAND OF EARLHAM DIES

Mrs. Effie England of Earlham died Wednesday, Jan. 27 at a hospital in Des Moines. She was 75 years of age.

Mrs. England was the former Effie May Hoadley. She was born in Adair county Dec. 1, 1889 a daughter of Willard C. and Elizabeth A. Hoadley. She moved with her family to the Early Chapel neighborhood, south of Earlham in early life.

She was married Dec. 28, 1910, to Henry A. England. Their life was spent in farming, until a few years ago, when she moved into Earlham. Her husband preceded her in death.

Mrs. England was a member of the Early Chapel Christian church and of the Rebekah lodge at Earlham.

She served as a school teacher for 35 years, before retiring in 1957.

Mrs. England is survived by a son, Willard England of Earlham; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Jones of St. Charles; a brother, John Hoadley of Earlham; a sister, Mrs. Anna Taylor of Indianola; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
