LEONORE RICHARDSON, Winterset

Leonore Lillian Richardson, 90, of Winterset died Feb. 17, 2007, at West Bridge Care & Rehabilitation.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 22, at Hertz Funeral Home in Carson with Pastor Marlene Brown officiating. Burial was at Wheeler Grove Cemetery, also in Carson.

Leonore Richardson was born Oct. 12, 1916, to Leon Grenell and Martha Lillian (Lischer) Forsyth of rural Griswold. She attended country school, Carson High School and Adair High School. Her marriage to Grant Nathaniel Richardson took place June 11, 1936, in Greenfield. They resided on a farm in rural Oakland before moving to Des Moines. Following World War II, she and her husband continued to farm, living in various southwest Iowa towns before retiring to Carson. Leonore assisted at Ila’s Country Gallery, where she took special orders of sewing and also helped prepare food for the Tea Room. In 1986, she and her husband moved to Winterset.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Wilbur Forsyth.

She is survived by a sister, Elva Stroeber of Dallas Center, and a brother, Frank Forsyth of Palm Desert, Calif.
