THOMAS PENN DIED AT SIGOURNEY FEB. 2

Thomas Penn of Sigourney died there Saturday, Feb. 2 at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Penn was born Feb. 9, 1870 a son of Edmon and Martha Bell Penn. He was married to Esther Irene Piatt on Oct. 25, 1904. They were parents of five children.

He spent most of his lifetime in Iowa, and was engaged in farming until his retirement a few years ago.

Among the near surviving relatives are a son, Don Penn of Winterset; a brother Elmer Penn of Stuart; and sisters, Ida Rhoades of Adel, Mary Johnson of Stuart and Emma McClarand of Greenfield.

Funeral services were held Monday at Mt. Pleasant, conducted by the Rev. John McLaughlin of Sigourney.
