FORMER TRURO RESIDENT DIES

Word was received here last Wednesday of the death of Mrs. J. L. Chapman, a former resident of Truro, at the Harkin clinic in Osceola.

Mrs. Chapman was the wife of Dr. J. L. Chapman of Derby. She had undergone surgery at the University hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., in September, remaining there for several weeks before returning to her home in Derby. After a few weeks at home, she was brought to the Osceola clinic where her death occurred.

Mrs. Chapman was the former Audrey Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Holmes, who were early settlers in Ohio township. She was born and spent her early life in the Truro community, living there for several years after her marriage before moving to Derby.

She leaves her husband; two sons, Robert Chapman of Minneapolis and Kermit Chapman of Early; five grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Beryl Patterson of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Derby.
