Death of RALPH DeLONG
Truro, February 9th, Special -

Ralph Alonzo DeLong was born April 14, 1871, in Clarke county and died at his home in Afton, Iowa, February 2, 1932, aged 60 years, 9 months and 19 days.

He lived most of his life in the vicinity of Truro. The last five years he spent in Afton. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Ora O. Smiley January 24, 1921, and they have lived hapily together until this present time. He was baptized into the Christian church of Truro about 17 years ago and kept his membership here since.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, three sisters, Mrs. Ella Ellis of Marysville, Missouri; Mrs. Mae Jones of Cooper, Iowa; and Mrs. Retta Cooper of Truro; two brothers, H. F. and T. C. DeLong, both of Truro; two stepsons Emmett Smiley living at home and Dale Smiley, residing in his own home in Afton; a number of nephews and nieces besides a host of friends. He was a man held in high esteem by his friends and neighbors. His kindness and fairness endeared him to his wife and her sons.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. I. G. Randels Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Christian church. The music was furnished by a mixed quartette. The body was interred in the Fields cemetery.
