Winterset, IowaFuneral services for Commodore Perry Norris, 78, were held at the Overton funeral home in Indianola Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services were conducted by the Rev. I. J. Brame.
Commodore Perry Norris was born near Iowa City, Iowa, on June 5, 1853, and died February 29, 1932, thereby finishing a pilgrimage of 78 years, 8 months and 24 days.
At about 18 years of age he came with his parents to Madison county near Winterset. Here he grew to manhood and was married on January 25, 1877, to Dora E. Robison. To them were born six sons: Henry, who died in infancy; Charley, Oscar who died on March 8, 1913, at the age of 28; Earl, Burll and Lee.
As a young man he joined the Christian church at Liberty Center and was constant in his christian---- friends and neighbor he could always be depended on.
He is survived by his wife, who has been his companion for over 55 years, nearly all of which has been spent in Warren county; also his four sons, a brother and sister, 29 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
