The death of Mrs. J. W. Campbell occurred in this city last Saturday night after a long illness covering a period of several months. She had been an invalid for many years but had bravely battled with the grim destroyer during that time. For the past few months her friends had given up all hopes of her recovery but had labored faithfully to ameliorate her sufferings and bring to her what comfort that was possible.
She leaves in her immediate family only a husband as they had no children.
The funeral occurred Monday. Short services were held at the late home at noon before proceeding to Union Chapel, eight miles east of town, where the regular services were held and in which cemetery the remains were interred. The Rev. L. E. Follansbee, of Des Moines, her old pastor, conducted the services.
