Rebecca Ann Haines was born in Randolph, county, Indiana, October 13, 1846, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, J. L. Copeland in Benton county, Colorado, February 11, 1902 after a brief illness. Her disease was dropsy.

Early in life she moved with her parents to Iowa, spending most of her life in this state. She was married to Christopher C. Wilson January 1st, 1965. There were born to this union two children, M. H. Wilson, living in Caddoa, Colorado, and Mrs. J. C. Copeland of Prowers, Colorado.

A husband, two children, three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Barnett Wilson of Earlham, Iowa and many relatives and friends mourn her loss. She was a faithful and loving wife and mother, always ready to help anyone in distress or need and give them a word of cheer or comfort. The funeral was conducted at the home of her daughter by Rev. Horn of the M. E. church and she was laid away in the Crawford cemetery to await the resurrection.
