Wednesday, November 13, 1957Elmer Fenimore Dies in Missouri
Elmer Fenimore, a native of Madison county, died Oct. 23 at the home of a daughter in Spring City, Mo., according to word received here this week.
Mr. Fenimore was 85 years of age. He was born in Madison county, at Peru, a son of William and Martha Fenimore. He had lived at Neosho, Mo. for 48 years.
He is survived by five daughters, a son, three sisters, including Mrs. Daisy Creger of Truro, 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial were held at Neosho.

Elmer Fenimore, 85, retired farmer died at 3:66 p.m. yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Cenah Adams at Spring City, following a one and a half years’ illness.
His home was Neosho, Rt. 3. Mr. Fenimore was born in Peru, Ia., and came to this area 48 years ago. He was a member of the Oakwood Christian church, in which he had been an elder for many years.
He is survived by five daughters besides Mrs. Adams as follows: Mrs. Vashti Sprenkle, Mrs. Marvel Wood, and Mrs. Ethyl Foster, all of Rte. 3: Mrs. Cecil Sinn, Allens’ Park Colo.; Mrs. Opal Thomas, Omaha, Nebr.; one son, Elgie, Denver; a brother William E. Fenimore, Carthage; three sisters, Mrs. Daisy Creger, Truro, Ia., Mrs. Effie Essix, Des Moines, Mrs. Marie Collins, Dallas, Tex.; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Sunday with Rev. Buel Buzzard officiating, assisted by Rev. Russell Moonaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with the Clark Funeral Home in charge.
The body will lie in state at the Clark Chapel until noon Sunday when it will be taken to the church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Oakwood Christian church for Elmer Fenimore. Rte. 3, who died Thursday. Rev. Buel Buzzard, assisted by Rev. Russell Moonaw, will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood cemetery, under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at the Fenimore home on Rte. 3, until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church. Grandsons will act as honorary pallbearers and active pallbearers will be Charlie Herrin, Homer Johnson, Arthur Crumbliss, Eugene Foster, Louis Cope and Walter Crews.
