JAMES HARRY CLINE

On the 6th day of October, 1907, on a farm near Winterset, Iowa, was born a little blue-eyed, dark-haired baby boy to bless and cheer the home of Mr. Roy and Mrs. Pearl Cline, and they named him James Harry Cline. The family resided most of Harry's life period in Madison County, the last four or five years in Earlham.

James was baptized in infancy. He was a kind and obedient boy, a pupil in the Earlham schools and a member of Miss Esther Crosswait's room. At the time of his death he was 11 years, 3 months and 28 days old. He leaves to mourn their loss a kind, loving mother, father, one sister, Helen, and one brother Dale, besides his three grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A host of friends were his.

Little Harry bore his affliction, the influenza and subsequent pneumonia patiently and bravely and passed out of this life to the eternal life on midnight, Tuesday, Feb. 4th, 1919.

All that loving hearts and hands could conceive of and do was done to hold this life on earth, but all was of no avail.

A prayer service was held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Howard, funeral services being held at the Stringtown Cemetery, where burial was made.

Harry's classmates from the second room paid him the last earthly visit at noon Thursday. They observed his memory with a beautiful floral piece, his teacher joining them. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
