CHARLES CLAMPITT DIES

Brief funeral services were held at the Winterset cemetery Tuesday morning, for Charles Clampitt of Omaha who died there Saturday, May 6th. Mr. Clampitt formerly lived in Madison county, being a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Clampitt.

Mr. Clampitt who was 58 years of age, was born Sept. 6, 1880. Bronchial pneumonia caused his death, after a short illness.

Mr. Clampitt is survived by his wife, and their four children: Russell and Eugene Clampitt, Mrs. LaVonne Melgaard and Mrs. Hazel Velesquez, and eight grandchildren.

He also leaves his mother, Mrs. Anna Clampitt, and two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. T. A. Tilton and Miss Nellie Clampitt of Winterset; Mrs. Lester Piatt and Frank Clampitt of Greenfield. His father, David Clampitt, died a number of years ago.

C. Clampitt, 58, Dies In Omaha

Charles Carl Clampitt, former resident of Madison county, died Saturday at his home in Omaha, Nebraska, following an illness of bronchial pneumonia. Charles was the oldest son of David and Annis Clampitt and was born in Madison county, September 6, 1880.

The surviving relatives are his wife, Mrs. Pearl Clampitt and four children, Russell, Eugene, Mrs. LaVoun Melgaard and Mrs. Hazel Velesguez, all of Omaha; his mother, Mrs. Annis Clampitt of Winterset; and two brothers, Lee of Greenfield and Frank of Earlham; three sisters, Mrs. T. A. Tilton and Nellie Clampitt of Winterset and Mrs. Elsie Piatt of Earlham. Eight grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were conducted in Omaha, and the body was brought to Winterset where short services were conducted at the cemetery Tuesday morning at ten o’clock by the Rev L. F. Davis.
