FUNERAL RITES HELD HERE FOR MARY JANE BURNHAM

Elderly Resident of Lorimor Died Dec. 8 at Her Home There

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jane Burnham, who died Dec. 3 at her home in Lorimor, were held last Wednesday from the Church of Christ in Winterset. The rites were held in charge of the Rev. L. F. Davis, assisted by the Rev. Tom Foglesong, and burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Mrs. Burnham was born Oct. 6, 1860, at Fosterburg, Ill., the daughter of Annie and Anthony Hill. On May 3, 1876, she was married to William Jones, and they were the parents of nine children: Mrs. Lillie Tolley of Lorimor; Joseph J. Jones who died in 1918; Archie Jones of Indianola; Claude Jones of Peru; Mrs. Jessie Loehr Burlington of Washington; Jacob A. Jones of Lorimor; Mrs. Anna Wood of Des Moines; Hattie Jones who died in 1896; and Charlie Jones of Winterset. Her husband died on April 18, 1915.

On Aug. 23, 1928, she was married to Abraham Burnham of Lynnville. He died in 1933.

Mrs. Burnham had joined the Church of Christ as a girl, and had reamined a life-long member. In addition to her seven surviving children, she leaves 37 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and one brother.
