MRS. MATTIE ESSICK RITES HERE SUNDAY

Daughter of J. W. Eldridge Died Saturday in Des Moines

Funeral services were held in Winterset Sunday for Mrs. Mattie Essick, who, as the former Mattie Eldridge was a native of this county, and who died at her home in Des Moines, last Saturday. She was 45 years of age.

Mrs. Essick was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Eldridge, and was born near Hanley on Sept. 27, 1893. She moved with her parents to Winterset in 1901, attending the public schools here. She later attended the Capitol City Commercial college in Des Moines.

She became a member of the Baptist church of Winterset early in life.

On April 4, 1920, she was married to Warren G. Essick of Prole.

She is survived by her husband; her father; and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Abrahams of Winterset and Mrs. Clarles Clark of Des Moines.

The rites Sunday were held from the Tidrick funeral home here, in charge of the Rev. J. H. cochrane, Jr., pastor of the Winterset Baptist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

MRS W. G. ESSICK DIES IN DES MOINES

Funeral services were held at the Tedrick funeral home Sunday afternoon at two o’clock for Mrs. W. G. Essick of Des Moines. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. H. Cochrane, Jr. Mrs. Essick, 45 years of age, died early Saturday morning of heart disease at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. A. Clark with whom she made her home. Mrs. Essick had been confined to her home for the past two years.

Mattie Eldridge Essick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Eldridge of Winterset, was born Sept. 27, 1893 near Hanley. She moved with her parents to Winterset in 1901, where she attended the schools and later attended the Capital City Commercial college in Des Moines. Early in life she became a member of the Baptist church of Winterset. She was united in marriage to Warren C. Essick of Prole on April 4, 1920.

She is survived by her husband; her father, J. W. Eldridge of Winterset and two sisters, Mrs. C. A. Clark of Des Moines and Mrs. Walter Abrahams of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
