JAMES STEWART TOUGH

James Stewart Tough, son of James and Ellen Milne Tough, was born near Killduff, October 12, 1887, and passed away at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines July 13, 1970.

After attending rural schools he attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Davenport, graduating in 1914. He practiced briefly in Muscatine, Iowa, and served in World War I. On return from the service he located in Earlham, where he practiced until ill health brought on his retirement.

As a young boy he was baptized at the rural church near his home.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers (one of which was his twin), and two sisters.

He is survived by two brothers: Edward of Earlham and Earl of Kellogg; sixteen nieces and nephews. He also leaves a host of friends and will be greatly missed by the community.

Services were held at Evans Funeral Home Wednesday, July 15. Rev. Donald F. Taylor was in charge. Burial was in the Earlham cemetery.
