Theodore Duncan was born on January 4, 1873 in Illinois and died November 18, 1931, at his home in Truro, Iowa, at 2:15 a.m. aged 58 years, 10 months and 14 days.
He had been ailing something like two years but no one thought he was in serious danger therefore the community was shocked at hearing that an acute heart attack had caused his death.
His mother dying when he was but a child he was raised by foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Miller. Since a child he has lived in and around Truro.
He was married to Lillie Belle Foreman of Truro in June 1897. They have spent their entire married life in this vicinity. To this union nine children were born, all living but one. Those living at home are Ray, Frank, Darwin, Ethel and Ruby. Those living away are Mrs. Earl Henson of Bockton, Mrs. Cecil Wharff of Wick, Mrs. Harry Pritchard of Truro.
He was a good and true husband and father and an obliging neighbor and held in esteem by his friends. He leaves to mourn his depature, his bereaved widow, eight children, eight grandchilden, two nieces, one nephew, besides a host of friends and neighbors.
Services were held from the Christian church of Truro Thursday, November 19th. Rev. I. G. Randels was in charge. The body was buried in the Fields cemetery.
