On Tuesday afternoon occurred the death of Mrs. T. T. Cason at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. W. King, in this city, aged 70 years and 8 months.
Lois E. Tisdale Cason was born in Adams county, Indiana, Aug. 12, 1839. In her early life she united with the Christian church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death.
Sept. 3, 1857 she was united in marriage to Mr. T. T. Cason, and to this union were born nine children four of whom preceded their mother to the other world. Those still living are Mrs. C. W. King and Barbara E. Cason of Schaller; Martha J. Leasure of Concordia, Kansas; Joshua J. Cason of Aberdeen, South Dakota, and Wm. T. Cason of Des Moines. Besides these children she leaves to mourn their loss, her mother, Mrs. Tisdale and two sisters, Mrs. Beerbower of Warren, Ark., and Mrs. Martha Holmes of Truro, Iowa. She also leaves fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. After living together for nearly fifty years, her husband died April 27, 1906, at Winterset, Iowa.
Two years ago she came to Schaller and has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. C. W. King. During these two years she has been a great but patient sufferer until her tired, weary body gave up the unequal struggle and her spirit took its flight to be forever with the Lord.
A brief prayer service was held at the house yesterday forenoon and the remains were taken to Madison county for burial in the Blair Chapel cemetery, her former pastor, L. E. Follansbee of Des Moines having charge of the funeral services there today.
Those who accompanied the remains were: Mr. and Mrs. C. W. King, Mrs. Iva Nagel and Miss Barbara Cason of Schaller and J. J. Cason of Aberdeen, S. D.
