Wednesday, December 13, 1939GEORGE WALLACE DIES
St. Charles--(Special)--Dec. 11.--
This community was shocked on Sunday noon when word came that George Wallace had passed away at the home of his sisters, the Misses Mary and Bell Wallace about five miles southeast of St. Charles. He and his wife had gone to their sisters' home a couple of days before as he had not been well for some time. Dr. Sayre was called to the home Sunday morning and found Mr. Wallace critically ill with pneumonia, and other serious complications, which made it necessary to get him to the hospital immediately. Arrangements had been made and the ambulance called, but he died while they were getting him ready to go. With the exception of a few years spent on a farm near St. Charles, and on a claim in Dakota, he lived and died in the neighborhood where he was born.
He is survived by his wife who before her marriage was Miss Julia Erwin of this place, two sisters, Mary and Bell Wallace, and one brother, Arthur all of near St. Charles, and another brother, Will of near Boone. The time or place of the funeral services is not known at this time.
