MARY McNAMARA PASSED MONDAY

Funeral Services Wednesday From St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winterset

Miss Mary McNamara, a resident of Madison county since childhood and member of a widely-known family here, died Monday at the residence of Mrs. P. J. Cunningham of Winterset, with whom she had made her home in recent years. She was 79 years of age.

Miss McNamara was the daughter of Martin and Mary Linanne McNamara, and was born in Des Moines on Jan. 3, 1860. She came with her parents to Lee township in this county in 1867, their home being in that community until 1870, when they moved to Union township. She lived in Union township until after the death of her mother, and in recent years had lived at the P. J. Cunningham residence.

She was a member of a family of five brothers and sisters. Two brothers, Michael and John McNamara, preceded her in death. She leaves one brother, James McNamara, and one sister, Mrs. Hugh Rogers, both of Winterset, in addition to 12 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday with requiem high mass at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Winterset, in charge of the pastor, the Rev. William Hahessy. She was taken to St. Patrick's cemetery in Lee township for burial.
