JOHN HENRY THOMSEN

John Henry Thomsen was born in Boone County, Iowa, December 19th, 1901 and passed out of this life, at the parental home near Earlham, Iowa, on the 20th day of May, 1923, aged 21 years, 5 months and 1 day.

In early childhood he was received into fellowship with Christ by the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, at the Lutheran Church at Bouton, Iowa. Later he renewed his baptismal vows and was confirmed in the faith of the Lutheran Church, at Jefferson Township, Madison County, Iowa. Of this church he has remained a constant member.

For many years he has been afflicted with heart trouble, and when, during the past winter, he suffered from a severe attack of the 'Flu,' it left him in a somewhat weakened condition. On Friday, May 18th he suddenly becamea ill again and after a short time of suffering he fell peacefully asleep Sunday morning, at 9:30. Now he is at rest, awaiting the joyful resurrection to a glorious eternal life. He leaves to mourn his early departure his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thomsen, one brother, four sisters, two grandparents, besides other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church at Earlham, by the Rev. C. Lillie, pastor of Trinitiy Lutheran Church, Van Meter, Iowa, and the body laid to rest in the Earlham cemetery.

The family has the sympathy of the entire communitiy in their bereavement.
