MORTUARY

Lora Grace Ross, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ross, was born in Lovett, Ind., November 20, 1890. In the year 1909 she, with her parents, moved to Garden City, Kan.

In 1909 she was married to John Slattery. Two sons were born to them, Howard and John, but their stay was of short duration, both dying in infancy.

In 1913 she and her husband moved to Iowa where they lived in and around the West Star neighborhood. All her life she was interested in the church and Sunday school, serving as secretary for many years. May 30, 1915 she united with the West Star Methodist church, of which she was a member at the time of her death.

For many months she had been in failing health, and December 28, 1938, she was admitted to the Winterset hospital. It was here that she passed away, April 19, 1939, at the age of 48 years, four months, and 29 days. She is survived by her husband, her father, of Lovett, Ind., three brothers: Dr. Everett W. Ross of Garden City, Kan., E. H. Ross of Vernon, Ind., and John Ross of Commiskey, Ind., a number of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

The funeral was held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home on April 20 at three o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the local Methodist church. Burial was made in the cemetery at Lovett, Ind.
