Death Of C. I. McCOMB

Death came suddenly to C. I. McComb on Friday night, March 23, 1923, from a stroke of apoplexy. Mr. McComb had not been in good health for several months, although he had been as well as usual until nine o'clock Friday evening, when he complained of feeling very ill. Within a few moments death resulted.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Dr. LeRoy C. Cooley. The Grand Army gave its impressive ritual following the pastor's address. Interment was made in Winterset cemetery, with military honors, the American Legion furnishing a firing squad and bugler.

Mr. McComb was loved by those who knew him. He possessed quaint humor and a great capacity for friendship. In his quiet way, he made fast friends, and at his death, appreciation of his speldid character came from all who knew him.

He was an elder in the Presbyterian church, where his counsel was valued.

He is survived by three daughters, one son, two sisters and two brothers.
