Isaac Paullin was born in Louisa county, Iowa, November, 1839, died at his home in Stuart Sunday, March 14, 1915, aged 75 years, 4 months.

He lived with his parents on the arm in Louisa county until 1861, and then was united in marriage to Mary E. Cline. To this union were born eight children of whom three survive—Mrs. J. W. Noone of Kansas City, Kan.; D. W. Paullin of Stuart, and Mrs. J. A. Cave of Redfield, Iowa.

They lived in Louisa county until 1873, when they moved to a farm in Madison county, where they resided until 1888. The family then moved to a farm in Adair county, southeast of Stuart, remaining in that vicinity until 1905, when they moved to their present home in southwest Stuart.

Mr. Paullin was not a member of any church, but was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and was heard in his last hours to repeat this verse of scripture, “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will given you rest.” Mr. Paullin had been a sufferer for years with heart trouble.

The funeral was held from the M.E. church Tuesday, the services being in charge of Rev. G. T. Roberts, the pastor. Burial took place in the Stuart cemetery.
