FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN OKLAHOMA

Mrs. Callie Scott, former Madison county school teacher, died Oct. 22 at Wellston, Okla., after an extended illness, according to a delayed report received here this week.

Mrs. Scott was the former Callie Peek, daughter of John and Lou Ann Peek, who were early settlers of Madison county. She was born here March 27, 1869, and taught school here for a number of years. She was married Jan. 16, 1901, to Edwin S. Scott. They left Madison county in 1903 to live in Sumner county, Kan. Mr. Scott died in 1941. Since 1949 Mrs. Scott had lived at Wellson (Wellston), Okla.

She is survived by a son, Roy C. Scott of Kiowa, Kan.; two brothers, Jesse Peek of Stillwater, Okla. And Wayne Peek of Wellston. Burial was made at Arkansas City, Kan.
