MRS. E. H. BAKER OF WINTERSET PASSES

Life-Long Resident of This County Died Here Last Friday

Mrs. E. H. Baker of Winterset, a life-long resident of Madison county, died last Friday at the Winterset hospital after years of failing health. She was 65 years of age.

Mrs. Baker was the former Louisa Jane Poffinbarger, daughter of Smith and Emma McKinzie Poffinbarger, and was born Sept. 6, 1873, in Jefferson township. She was married to E. H. Baker on April 12, 1899. They were the parents of one daughter, Gladys, who survives.

Mr. Baker died in 1920, and since then she had made her home in Winterset. At the age of 14 years she joined the United Brethren church at North river. Throughout her life she attended services as long as her health permitted.

In addition to her daughter, who is survived by two brothers, George Poffinbarger of this county and E. L. Poffinbarger of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held from the Ramsey-Richards funeral home Sunday, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Davis. Burial was made at the McDonald cemetery.
