NUZUM G. PACE

Nuzum G. Pace was born in Metcalf county, Kentucky, Feb. 5th, 1850 and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Blosser, April 20, 1917, age 67 years, 2 months, 15 days.

In 1864 Mr. Pace moved to Booneville, Ind., and ten years later he came to Patterson, where he has resided since.

On Feb. 13, 1878, he was married to Eliza Gill Grissom. This union was blessed with three children, all of whom survive, namely: Denny Miller Pace, Mrs. John Potter and Mrs. Frank Blosser. There are also three grandchildren: Leo and Glen Pace and Betty Potter who survive. Out of the original family of ten children belonging to Nuzum and Parthena G. Pace, of which Nuzum G. Pace was a member, only one brother remains to mourn the loss of the deceased.

In 1878 Mr. Pace was converted in a Methodist meeting. He united with the Methodist church, in which he delighted to serve. Mr. and Mrs. Pace took great pride in caring for the early ministers of the conference. These men had great circuits to cover and were some times wearied; but they always found comfort and rest at the home of this couple.

Mr. Pace has gone to meet with his wife who led the way into the new realm only five weeks ago. Interment in Montpelier cemetery, conducted by Rev. Nielsen.
