Jonathan Brinson was born July 29th, 1847, near Winterset, Madison county, Iowa. He passed away at his home near Laverne, August 4th, 1927, after many weeks of illness, at the age of 80 years and 6 days.

July 15th, 1877 he was united in marriage to Miss Eliza Anise Belveal, to this union 8 children were born, one son, Joseph E. preceeded him in death Sept. 7th, 1899. He leaves to mourn, his wife, seven children, 30 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of friends. The children are: William J., Charles F., and Clarence D. of Laverne; Eva B. Webb of Vancouver, Wash., Elizabeth Jane Wicker of Reese, Kans., Pearl A. Pettis of Cooper, Okla., and Nora R. Henson of Lovell, Okla.

Jonathan Brinson was baptized into the Church of Christ about the year 1900. He was a devoted husband, a kind loving father and a good and honest neighbor.

D. L. Jewett delivered the message of consolation and hope, selecting his text from the 8th Psalm, 4th verse.

Mr. Brinson and his wife came to Oklahoma in '89 locating near Guthrie where they staked a claim. In 1902 they came to Harper County to give their boys an opportunity to file and have resided here the past twenty-five years.
