CLARA MARIE BLOOMQUIST SWANSON

Clara Marie Bloomquist, daughter of Daniel and Sarah Bloomquist was born at Hultsfred in the province of Smaland, Sweden, March 21, 1840. She was united in marriage to Andrew Swanson in 1864. To this union were born four children.

In 1872 they immigrated to the United States settling at Kellogg, Iowa. In the fall of 1874 they removed to Stuart, Iowa, and in the spring of 1876 they removed to Madison County, Iowa where they lived until the time of their death, Mr. Swanson having preceded her on March 12, 1904

During the greater part of the last two years she was cared for at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alma Benson of Earlham where she passed away July 12, 1917, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 21 days.

She leaves to mourn their loss, two sons and two daughters, Charles E. Benson, Minn., Henry L. of Livermore, Iowa, Mrs. Alma Benson of Earlham and Mrs. Leva McNall of Middle Point, Ohio, besides eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and many friends.

Funeral services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. V. B. Demaree, of Grand Junction, Iowa. Interment in Earlham Cemetery.
