DEATH OF MRS. MARY WALKER

Mrs. Mary Myers Walker, a cousin of William Brinson, died on Jan. 3d at the home of her daughter in Wichita, Kans. Mrs. Walker came from Indiana with her parents to Madison county in 1851, and married Martin B. Ruby in 1855. Mr. Ruby, a member of Co. A., 39th Iowa Volunteers, was killed at the battle of Allatoona Pass, Georgia. Two sons, Dr. W. O. Ruby of Zion City, Chicago and Elmver Ruby of California, survive their mother. Mrs. Walker became a charter member of the Church of Christ in 1853. She was well known in Madison county and Winterset, because of her long residence here.
