MRS. CLARA CALDWELL SUCCUMBS AT MADRID

Mrs. Clara Caldwell, mother of Frank Caldwell, of Winterset, died at Madrid last Friday at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. Caldwell was a native of Petersburg, Ill., where she was born May 16, 1854, the daughter of Alfred and Rebecca Clark. Her husband, David Caldwell, died in 1905.

She leaves two children, Frank Caldwell of Winterset and Mrs. Martha Blome of Madrid. Among her five grandchildren are Clark Caldwell of Iowa City, and Woodrow Caldwell of Des Moines, both formerly of Winterset.

Funeral services were held at Madrid Sunday, and burial was made in the Hillsdale cemetery.
