RESIDENT OF TRURO COMMITS SUICIDE

Perry W. Lowe Takes Own Life Using Carbon Monoxide Gas

Perry W. Lowe, a life-long resident of Truro, committed suicide at his home there last Friday by the use of carbon monoxide gas piped from the exhaust of his car. He had been in poor health for some time. He was 44 years of age.

Mr. Lowe was well known in both Winterset and Truro, where he spent his life as a barber.

He was born near Prairie Grove on Nov. 15, 1894. He was married to Lois V. Neidt of Osceola on Nov. 15, 1915. They were the parents of five sons.

Surviving are his wife; the five sons, Kenneth Lowe of Winterset, Robert Lowe of Des Moines, and Richard, Jerry and Billy Dean Lowe at home. He also leaves two brothers, James Lowe of Seymour and Harry Lowe of Crookston, Neb.; and two sisters, Mrs. Glen Woods and Mrs. Caddie Neff of Truro.

Funeral services were conducted from the Kale funeral home Sunday in charge of the Rev. Clayton P. Shepherd, pastor of the Christian church there. Burial was made in the Field's cemetery.

Perry W. Lowe

Perry W. Lowe, son of William and Laura Lowe, was born on a farm near Prairie Grove, Iowa, November 15, 1894. Died at his home in Truro, Iowa, September 8, 1939. Age 44 years, 9 months and 23 days.

His entire life was spent in Truro and vicinity. At an early age he learned the barber trade in which he gave his very best efforts, his entire energy and all his strength to make his work successful.

On November 15, 1915, he was united in marriage to Lois V. Neidt of Osceola, Iowa. To this union five sons were born, Kenneth of Winterset, Iowa, Robert, who is employed in Des Moines, Iowa, Richard, Jerry and Billy Dean at home.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, five sons, two brothers, James of Seymour, Iowa and Harry of Crookston, Nebr., and two sisters, Mrs. Caddie Neff and Mrs. Glen Woods of Truro, Iowa, and a host of relatives and business associates.

Funeral services were conducted at the Kale Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock by Rev. Sheppard, pastor of the Christian church. Interment was in the Fields cemetery.
