Miss Lucy Barrus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Barrus, died Monday night at the state hospital for the insane at Clarinda. She was an exceptionally bright young girl, a graduate of the Winterset schools and had entered upon the work of teaching, when her health broke down with an attack of nervous prostration. This was about seven years ago. Soon after, her mind became deranged and she was sent to Clarinda.

The time of the funeral services has not been announced, owing to the absence of Eugene Barrus, who resides in Red Wing, Minnesota, but it will probably be on Friday.
