MRS. SARAH PRITCHARD Of Van Meter Passes

Mrs. Sarah Pritchard, long time resident of the Van Meter community, died Monday, March 3, 1947, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Susie Eichner of Hanley. She was 78 years of age.

Mrs. Pritchard was a native of Iowa, and was born in this state Feb. 13, 1869. Most of her life was spent on a farm near Van Meter. After leaving there she lived in Winterset four years, and in West Des Moines eight years.

She was married Oct. 15, 1885, to Elias Pritchard, Sr. He died last November. Two of their sons, Clarence and Charles Pritchard, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by nine sons and six daughters, all of whom live in Iowa; in addition to a brother, John Diser of Clemons.

Funeral services were held from the Van Meter funeral home, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery in Jefferson township.
