WINTERSET MAN DIES AT CRESTON

Norman Johnson found on Street with Fatal Head Injury

Norman L. Johnson, 51, of Winterset, was found on the sidewalk of a down-town street in Creston shortly after midnight Sunday, with fatal head injuries. He was taken to Greater Community hospital in Creston, where he died at 5:20 a.m. without recovering consciousness.

Johnson, a salesman for a novelty advertising firm, was registered at a Creston hotel that night.

Cause of his death had not been determined early Wednesday. Creston authorities are holding the body, and Dr. C. J. Ryan, Union county coroner, said Tuesday evening that he could not as yet release any statement as to cause of death.

Johnson had been a resident of Winterset for several years. He is survived by his wife, who is employed at the Horton Nursing home, north of the town here.
