MRS. CARL JURGENSEN DIES AT AGE OF 94

VAN METER- Mrs. Carl Jurgensen, a native of Germany, died at a Winterset nursing home Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the age of 94 years.

Mrs. Jurgensen was the former Marie Cathrina Tuexen. She was born at Boel, Germany, on Oct. 17, 1858, a daughter of Jess and Dorthea Tuexen. In 1881, she was married to Carl Jurgensen. They were the parents of five children.

The family came to the United States in 1908. They first located near Bouton, Iowa, later living in Minnesota and at Van Meter. Since 1918, her home had been at Desoto.

Mr. Jurgensen died in 1936. One daughter also preceded the mother in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Martha Amundson of St. Paul, Minn.; three sons, Herman Jurgensen of Des Moines, Gustave Jurgensen of Adel and Gerhart Jurgensen of Van Meter. She also leaves 26 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
