GLENN H. THOMPSON

Glenn H. Thompson, son of Hickman and Emma Addy Thompson, was born June 24, 1903 in Madison county, Iowa, and here in this county he has virtually spent his lifetime. He has pursued his work as a farmer down through the years, retiring in 1968 but continuing to live on a farm and working a good part of the time. The last few years his failing health made it difficult for him to do as much as he liked to do but he preferred to be active and was until a short time before his final hospitalization. He passed away on August 20 at Des Moines General hospital in Des Moines. He was 68 years, 1 month and 26 days of age.

On April 9, 1944 he was united in marriage to Ruah Missildine in Madison county, Iowa, and there are three children who make the family: Aurelia, Dale and Marlene. Glenn was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife Ruah, of rural Earlham; by three children: Mrs. Aurelia Klink of Cedar Falls, Dale Thompson of Earlham, and Mrs. Marlene Schaper of Adair; by one grandchild; by one brother, Clarence Thompson of Van Meter; by one sister, Mrs. Mary Rogers of Portland, Oregon; and by other relatives and friends.

Services were held Tuesday, August 24 at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset. Rev. Ward Young of Earlham officiated. Burial was in the Winterset cemetery.
