SUSANNAH NICKLE Died At St. Charles

Susannah Vandiford was born October 1st, 1826. She was married to Robert C. Nickle February 3d, 1848, in Ohio. To this union ten children were born, five sons and five daughters. One daughter preceded her mother to the other shore.

Mrs. Nickle came to Iowa in 1849 where she has lived a long and useful life and where she peacefully died December 10, 1898, being 72 years, 2 months and 9 days old.

Funeral services were held December 12, at the St. Charles church. In early life she became a member of the U. B. church. Later she, with her husband, joined the Church of Christ of which she was a consistent member.

A familiar face has disappeared from St. Charles society, a well known voice is still, but the good example of Mrs. Nickle is with us even yet.
