D. W. SHORT DIED TUESDAY NIGHT

Death Occurs at West Des Moines at Age of 85 Years

D. W. Short of Winterset, a well known farmer in Webster township for many years, died at the Restorium in West Des Moines Tuesday night, at the age of 85 years.

Mr. Short was a native of Henderson county, Illinois, where he was born April 18, 1864, the son of I. C. and Rutha Short. He came to Madison county when he was 23 years old, and settled in Webster township. He was married here in 1890 to Myrtle Wight. They spent one year in Woodbury county, before returning to Webster township, where they spent their active years. They retired and moved into Winterset about 11 years ago. Mrs. Short died two years ago.

Surviving are two children, Mrs. Winifred Silverthorn of Winterset, and Lawrence Short of Dyer, Ind. He also leaves three children and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from Anderson's Home for Funerals.
