MRS. JOE KIRBY DIED LAST FRIDAY

Death Occured in Hospital at Des Moines at Age of 73 Years

Mrs. Joseph H. Kirby, a well known resident of Winterset for many years, died last Friday, June 25, at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines. She was 73 years of age.

Mrs. Kirby was the former Dollie Chloe Lucas, daughter of George and Sarah Lucas, and was born at Greenfield on Oct. 7, 1875. All of her life was spent in and near Winterset.

She was married Oct. 8, 1893, to Joseph H. Kirby of Winterset. Their married life was spent in this community.

She was a long-time member of the Winterset Church of Christ, and was affiliated with the Woman's Relief corps.

Surviving are her husband; four children, Mrs. Lucile Clark, George Kirby and Dale Kirby, all of Los Angeles, Calif., and Eugene Kirby of Winterset; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Welch of Winterset; and a brother, Clarence Lucas of Winterset. One daughter, Lenore, preceded her in death at the age of three years.

Funeral services were held here Tuesday from the Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. I. E. Linkletter, pastor of the Winterset Church of Christ. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
