MRS. STELLA JONES RITES HELD FRIDAY

Long-Time Madison County Resident Was Native of Indiana

Mrs. Stella Jones, whose death occurred here April 13, had been a resident of Madison county since 1871. She was a native of Jackson county, Indiana, where she was born Jan. 11, 1869, the daughter of Daniel and Frances Harrell.

She came to Madison county with her parents in 1871, and they settled on a farm in Scott township. She lived there until her marriage to Benjamin F. Jones, on March 4, 1886.

Mr. and Mrs. Jones farmed in Scott township until 1925, when they moved into Winterset. Mr. Jones died here in 1937.

She had been a member of the Methodist church since early life.

Surviving are three sons, Fred, Arthur and Melvin Jones, all of Winterset; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Friday from Richards Funeral home, in charge of the Rev. G. L. Hufstader, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
